'Raavanan' totally different kind of album from Rahman.
Veera... Perfect Theme Song for Raavanan !
Kaattu Sirukki... A folk song, where Shankar Mahadevan and Anuradha Sriram as usual have given their best. In a few seconds you will be into the song, with a swaying humming.
Kalvare... Here is a melody by Shreya Goshal, calms you down and you will feel like you are out of this world.
Kedakkari... Powerfull beats with a mix of nadhaswaram which definitely says that this is a folky marriage song. This is also a good song.
Usure Pogudhey... Karthik's voice blend with ARR's music absolutely conveys the deep sorrow, Vairamuthu's lyrics adds even more suffering feel to the song.. I would say that this is the best of the best song in this album..
Kodu Potta... Builds that enthusiasm in you. You will really feel like taking upon anything that comes in your way as an obstacle. The way the song ends, makes you feel like. YEAH ! CUMMON !! I WANNA GO !!!
Rahman has done his magic as expected. As an album it might not interest some people, this may be due to the fact that all songs are based on the story and the situation. But this is a great treat for ARR's fans. I would give 4/5 for 'Raavanan'.
i must tell u that the hindi version is way better than the tamil,am not being biased over here.
ReplyDelete# especially the songs like ranjha ranjha (katu sirkki) sounds better in hindi .maybe due to Javed ali and rekha bardhwaj's voices being used..this females voice isn't too sharp to our ears unlike anus voice.
#kalvare ,khele re both ain't good. its as if the ghost of jhoda akbar aish is singin a lullaby..
#kodu pota, usurey pogudhu, keda kari are atleast similar in both versions n good too...
my pick - kodu pota
almost made it-usure pogdhu..in hindi too
