The songs are good, but seems as if i had heard this somewhere. Adiye khozuthey is rocking.I loved Shruti Hassan's voice,it was lil' distinct.mundhinum paartthene was awesome may be because of Naresh Iyer (wink).nenjukkul peydhidum was superb with very expressive lyrics n soothing voice of Hariharan. I didn't like the song yethi yethi ,because it was bad(puke).
I was Little surprised about why Harris Jeyaraj didn't make use of his lucky bird Bombay Jeyashree, instead this time he had roped in Sudha Ragunathan for an emotional song.it was good too,but didn't like those tabla beats in between (made it sound like an old song).
so my rating for V.A is 3.5 on 5.
You missed the song Ava enna enna, that's an awesome song with simple lyrics and good music. I agree with you on Yethi yethi. It's a horrible song. The music and lyrics are not in sync. Nenjukkul Peidhidum is a gr8 song. Hariharan is awesome and his voice is divine. Long live Hariharan!!! Oh shanthi shanthi by SPB charan is a good foot tapping number. But best of best in this album is Adiye khozuthey, truly a rockin number. Full kudos to Harris Jeyaraj but still we expect more from Harris- gautham combo. So i will go with 3 on 5.
ReplyDeletesorry to miss "ava enna enna"!i hope its good(bcos i haven't heard it.)
ReplyDeletei actually liked yethi yethi.college stuff you know.i liked adiye.... more, the guitar work was supercool.

I don't in the slightest surprised about deja vu about certain tunes of Harris Jayaraj. There are many songs of his which have raised criticisms.Well Who cares as long as the music makes u Dumb You've got to appreciate it.mundhinum paartthene Is awesomw.I agree.Cant wait to see the movie..........
ReplyDeleteI would rate 4.5/5 for the album VA!! They are just awesome ppl. "Nenjukkul peidhidum" song jus carries to u heaven with that melting voice of Hariharan .. Again Mundhinam song is a nice melody. O'coz not to forget is the great music in Adiyey Kolludhey, especially the electrifying guitar is juzzzzzz breathtaking!!Ava ena song is a simple song but made great which would appeal to both mass n class!! Yethi yethi is a average song but thats fne too...
ReplyDeleteAm sure that this will be the biggest year of the year!! Hoping to see the videos as well!!
lol..ava enna enna is like something..cant describe!!!
ReplyDelete'Munthinam' is the pick of the lot.. gotta admit that 'adiyae' sounds like 'endrendrum punnagai-alaiypayuthey'.. and for that matter 'yethi yethi'.. reminds of you another surya song.. 'CBI-yengae'-poovellam kettupar/yuvan.. well.. harris possibly could not have got inspired by yuvan's number.. maybe.. both must have got inspired by some other song..
ReplyDeletethe strings are quite exceptional.. but still the strings in 'nenjukkul' is straight from title song of Saawariya.. goodness!! too much of copying.. Harris!!!
